Elizabeth A. Foley, M.D. received her medical degree from Albany Medical College of Union University. After completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tufts University School of Medicine, she entered into a busy Ob/Gyn practice where she devoted the next 10 years to women’s health as an obstetrician and gynecologic surgeon. During this time, she encountered countless women who suffered from venous disease and found limited treatment options in the Boston area.
While investigating innovative treatments for her patients, Dr. Foley developed a keen interest in the fields of phlebology and aesthetic medicine. She eventually made the decision to redirect her medical practice and, together with her partner Judy Hondo, M.D., underwent extensive training in those fields. Dr. Foley received her initial training for Botox and fillers under the tutelage of Alastair Carruthers, M.D. and Jean Carruthers, M.D., who together pioneered the cosmetic use of Botulism A exotoxin in 1987.
In 2002, Dr. Foley co-founded The Vein & Aesthetic Center of Boston, where she treated patients for 16 years. Recently, she decided to limit her focus to a state-of-the-art aesthetic practice, and Purely Aesthetics was born, its doors opening on August 1, 2018. Dr. Foley is highly skilled in the administration of Botox and dermal fillers such as Voluma, Juvéderm and Volbella.
While devoted to her practice, Dr. Foley also takes great pride in her family and her role as a mother. Originally from Troy, NY, she is a long-time resident of Brookline, Massachusetts. In her free time, Dr. Foley enjoys photography, painting, biking and Pilates.
